Regarding the Daisy Squares, I used a DK worsted yarn and a hook size 4. Choose a hook depending on the weight of the yarn you use.
I joined the squares by doing single crochet stitches in the back loops at the front to make the 3 dimension seams. I might just make a tutorial to show later this summer. I have had more people asking about it.
